Chimu is a mythical warrior of old who was born from within the depths of a glacier. He rose up through the ice and into the air much like that of a Phoenix. He roamed the skies that surrounded him for centuries until he finally found a place to land; a place he could call home. Within a thick bamboo forest he settled down, but he heard a strange noise- it was another dragon! The two dragons fought for many days and many nights, but neither of them gave in. Chimu called for a truce, but the other dragon Zhula, did not want to give up so easily. Chimu refused to fight any longer- taking a path of peace. Zhula only grew angrier and angrier with every strike at Chimu, but for some reason she didn't give in. In one final attempt to best Chimu, she lifted her head for a moment, and then let out a scorching breath of fire at Chimu. Chimu in turn let out an frigid breath of ice, countering the flames.
"WHY WON'T YOU JUST DIE ALREADY?" Zhula questioned in an enraged manner.
"Why don't you just give up?" Chimu asked Zhula in a peaceful tone.
"BECAUSE THIS IS MY HOME. THIS FOREST BELONGS TO ME. YOU CAN NOT LIVE HERE." Zhula yelled.
"This forest is very vast. Surely there can be room for the both of us, Eh?" Chimu offered to the red dragon.
"..And why should I let you live here?" Zhula replied.
"Because I could be your friend." Chimu said with a smile on his face.
"A.. friend? I.. I've never had a friend before.. everyone else is afraid of me." She said back to him."
"I am not afraid of you. Through our many months of fighting, I've gotten to know you- and I have no reason to fear someone who is just like myself."
The two dragons lived in harmony from then on, and human warriors today have named fighting styles after them. One style, called Chimu-fa, is a defensive style, and the other style which focuses more on offense is called Zhula-fa. Masters of both styles achieve balance and harmony in many areas of their life.
