Beware holly leaves, of carefully painted waves,
They hide blood and gems and bones and graves away from your eyes.
Never trust the painter, for they can only speak in lies.
Holly would be lying if she said she never thought about where she came from. All she knows of her past is a wizard's lab, a painting, and how good blood feels in her claws. Wait, what? Holly knows she's never felt that before, she's never felt blood on her before, all her blood is made of paint and even then she knows its nothing like blood. It would be easy to say it was just from a nightmare, but this nightmare feels like every day. She hasn't told her sister Blink yet, what would he say? But, Holly knows that in all those dreams and nightmares of things she hasn't done, Blink is always next to her, laughing and having fun...

Its an accusation, it stings like poison.
"He can't know," You choke out, your words no longer feel like your own, "He'll betray me again... I'll hurt him again."
Blightchain's eyes narrow, "You and Blink were always trouble, its only a matter of time until you both remember and start trouble again."
"We were killers, we were thieves."
"Tell me something I don't already know."
You stand tall, you can feel the memories and reactions from the Holly before you in your head, she wants to attack, she wants to fight. She wants to make sure Blightchain never gets the chance to tell Blink.
"He was my twin, my sister." You whisper, "He betrayed me because he knew who we were. He killed whoever Blink was before, he even killed who I was before. I didn't care when he fell in love with Arachne, I didn't care when he started to question what we were doing, not really. I cared when he chose to trust her over me, I cared when he decided to betray me, I cared when he stilled loved me as his sister while we fought, I cared when he could so easily forgive me for bringing him with me down a path darker than the Shadow Flight, but part of me still can't forgive him for trying to protect other people from, me."
Blightchain is silent while looking at you, and so is Holly... so are you, you really are just who Holly was before with just a glimpse at a different life.
"Can't you just let me try and become who Blink thought I could be?"
Blightchain is silent for another beat, it feels longer than being trapped in a painting.
"I," Blightchain starts, "I have seen the most feared arena champion of the Scarred Wasteland attack my daughter and then grow to fall in love with her. I have seen Serthis warriors lay down their weapons and join this clan. I have seen the monsters of the gods themselves change from what they were meant to be and join our home."
She takes a breath, you don't.
"Holly, I believe that you can also change and live a new life, you've spent a longer time trapped in a painting than the Tidelord has been missing, I believe that you can change, but you have to show me before I can let anyone in this clan trust you."
You take a deep breath and nod your head.
"I will."
"You haven't told him."
