Honestly, how is he still alive?


As a very young dragon, Cay did not have any developed mental or magical defenses. He does not remember much of his childhood, because most of it was spent possessed by some ghost or another. At one point, it got so bad that he nearly died, at which point an Order of Mortimeria deathspeaker showed up, kicked all the ghosts out of him, then helped him form new defenses. She was the entity who taught him what it meant to be a deathspeaker and how to help ghosts move on. She taught him how they felt, and how they were all just lost and confused and not malicious, how they just wanted to fulfill some last requests before they moved on.

Cay does not know who his parents were; they abandoned him when he was very small. He remembers a few dragons from the Hellwell Undercroft where he grew up, but most of those figures are either impersonal, impossible to locate, or dead.


Currently engaged to Athosar, whom he adores with his entire heart and will kill to protect.
