Topaz

There was a stirring, soft grumblings and hushed whispers as the baby opened its' eyes to reveal firelight inside. Unease spread through the clan; never before had they allowed a fire born to live amongst them. The only other who communed with fire was Ironwing, son of the leader and a dragon who kept much to himself.
"Is she going to stay?" Was the question on many lips. Fire, in the forest. Aharown himself came to touch forheads with the small one, who meeped a greeting, then sneezed a tiny lick of flames. Several dragons pushed themselves away, but the leader spoke to all in a voice that carried.
"She shall be given charge of any kindly plague familiars, to keep any corrosion from spreading."

And so she was given task, and even as she toddled about on unsure baby feet, she followed the plague creatures, and would not allow their poison to spread.
