Clairice is a Lionhearted with "golden nails". Which thank gods doesn't actually look like it sounds. She doesn't bother hiding it anyway as she grew up quite sheltered in the inofficial family house under the guide of the inofficial head and her trusted. Clairice is bright not just on the outside and has been made a prodigy early in life. As such, she's never experienced the resentment and hatred other Lionhearted go through and kept a pure, innocent mind. This along with her unusual - read: conspicuous - (hair) color makes her unpopular among older Lionhearted. She might look like an innocent kid at times, but it would be fatal to let oneself be fooled by this. "Golden nails" also means "tough as nails": being an absolute nightmare to opposite parties. In a diplomatic way, though some would say otherwise. Due to her feeling of security within the family house, she's developed a habit of drumming her fingers, particularly her nails, on tables and other things within reach. And it’s the rythm of that drumming which haunts the poor diplomats in their sleep. Clairice indeed has another use for her unusual talent which involves at least a little bit of fighting. Due to the "golden nails", she can freely control the growth of her finger- and toenails as well as her hair. Perfect for raking her claws across some poor idiot's face and growing a proper lion's mane. It's mostly the scare that keeps those people from following her, but even so she has an effective weapon against assaults. Not like she couldn't have a bodyguard if she wanted; her girlfriend Eteri would be stoked to play that part, and the head of house regularly expresses her content to the idea, too. But Clairice wouldn't want to get Eteri hurt because of her, nor anyone else, notwithstanding that it would probably be a piece of cake for them after being harried their entire life. Yeah no, no bodyguard for Clairice, she can take care of herself. Besides, she much prefers demanding Eteri's attention out of the blue. It puts her in control - a position she likes having. Quite a lot, even. It can't be helped: someone has to, right? |
