Othar

The iridescent Ridgeback stood and waited as he was instructed . Moments later he watched as a large brown Guardian clad in copper approached him. The Guardian was flanked by two armored male Imperials and followed by an attractive female pearlcatcher.
The Guardian addressed the Wildclaw standing next to the Ridgeback.
“Who do we have here Grey?”
Before Greyswandir could respond the Ridge struck a regal pose and announced.
“I am Othar, Adventurer Extraordinaire! and who, my good fellow, might you be?”
Calysta suppressed a giggle as Greyswandir rolled his eyes. Genjiwei and Cabra along with Diath remained seemingly unfazed.
“I am Diath.”
Othar responded genuinely pleased. “Ah King Diath! It is you to whom I seek. I am here to help you.”
“Help me?”
“Of course, I am here to supply my advise and expertise to you and your clan.”
“And what makes you think we need your, advise?”
“Why your good friend Dagfinn King of Ironbark. He said you would appreciate someone as myself.”
“Dag huh?”
“Yes, a true friend indeed!” Proudly Othar replied. “I have experiences to impart. I was hatched before the emergence if the Nocturnes. ”
“So was nearly a quarter of this clan.”
“Truly? Then they would understand. They too would welcome and benefit from my help. I assure you.”
Diath lowered his head.
“What should we do?” Greyswandir asked quietly.
Diath inwardly sighed. Othar didn’t seem like a bad fellow. He might actually know something the others may learn. But, he couldn’t remain in Tareesh. Diath’s mental health relied on Othar’s absence from him.
“Escort Othar to Sonnet at Ampezist. I’m sure she will be better able to, uh, utilize his talents.”
Othar grinned. “Is this Sonnet spunky? I am looking for a new sidekick.”
Calysta blurted out a laugh. Then covered her mouth. Diath grimaced.
“She is the leader of the village of Ampezist, its security unit and Lulungomeena University.”
“Excellent! She sounds most worthy. Lead on!” He invited Greyswandir, then began to follow as the grey Wildclaw led. To Diath Othar added, “I hope you won’t be too upset. When she decides to join me.”
Diath did not respond, but just watched.
Othar continued to speak to Greyswandir, loudly, as the two moved towards Ampezist. Diath stood silent until Othar and Greyswandir were well on their way.
Without looking away from the pair, he commanded.
“Cabra, fetch me Orion, I have a message for him to take back to his Boss.”
