Envy

Generation: The Homunculi in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood are false beings that were created instead of birthed. They may have been given life by their father, but they do not have parents in the typical sense. Due to this factor, I thought a Gen 1 was perfect for the fandragon job. Additionally, since the Homunculi are sterile, the offspring list will remain empty.

Pose Change: The character this fandragon is modeled off of is androgynous and can change appearances at will, switching easily from face to face and morphing quickly. I gave the dragon a Silhouette Scroll so that they can change their appearance as well, although it falls short of the real Envy’s skills.

Element: At first, I wasn’t concerned about the element of the fandragon, so I bought the best fit I could find on the Auction House and called it a day. Turns out I was able to get some meaning out of the element after all; the Lightning Flight embodies creation and all things artificial, and the transmutation glow from FMA:B looks like arcs of electricity. Perfect fit.

Breed: With a distinctive male pose and long, draping mane, Veilspun make rather great candidates for Envy fandragons. The breed’s hypnotism abilities and Envy’s body-control abilities go hand in hand. Despite being tiny in Flight Rising canon, they still are the best fit in my opinion.

Eyes: Envy is occasionally depicted with glowing white eyes in the anime. This only happens a few times, but I found the effect to be striking and decided to go with it for my fandragon attempt.

Stats: This fandragon was trained to level 20 in order to match the overwhelming power of their inspiration. Their strength stat mirrors the sheer destructive capability of Envy's gigantic form, while their regeneration capabilities go hand in hand with the pseudo-invulnerability of the Homunculi.
