Biography

The Blind Seer, Shadow of Prophecy

Born blind and mute, Corbin was not able to live as a young dragon should have. There was no romping with his nest mates or learning to fly for the first time, instead, he was tucked away under the watchful eyes of the clan's progenitors. Until one day, he finally spoke.

"A storm is coming. The waters will rise too fast for the ground to soak up."

Ianthe and Rockscale were shocked. Not only that this seemingly mute dragon had spoken after such a long period of silence, but that his first words seemed to be foretelling disaster. They questioned him on what he meant, but he spoke no further. Storms were not uncommon in the shifting expanse, but rarely was the cacophony of thunder accompanied by rain. The two argued for a while on what to do. Ianthe was insistent that the clan prepare the lair for a flood, while Rockscale was adamant that doing so would be a waste of time as nothing would happen. It wasn't until Ianthe pointed out that if there were a flood, the nest of Rockscale's unhatched eggs that was currently incubating would surely be swept away that the Guardian finally agreed. The clan's strongest dragons set out to dig massive moats and build tall walls. And sure enough, as they were working droplets of rain began to fall. Dragons that had before doubted their leader's superstitions now worked with fervor against the impending flood. The rain came swift and fast, and the water rose to levels the Lightning Flight would likely not see again for years to come, but because of Corbin's warning, the lair was spared any damage, and the clan was safe. Corbin eventually began speaking normally, though he is still a dragon of few words. He continues to have visions of prophecy whenever disaster nears the clan, and thanks to this, they are always prepared.
