● // Royce's wife. ● // Avonia loves little more than gossip and meddling in the affairs of others. It seemed only natural, then, for her to adopt a position as one of the Archive's messengers when she, Royce and the rest of their circus troupe came to join their number. ● // Her religious zeal is a rather new development, and though Royce doesn't buy into the spirituality that his wife so passionately promotes, he supports her fiercely enough to make one wonder if, perhaps, his skepticism is naught but a facade. ● // Royce and Avonia's relationship is one of the least speculated upon within the Archive's walls, for they suit each other. Both are persistent in their endeavours; both are playful about their work; both are prone to exaggeration. The difference between the two, however, is that while Royce is not entirely without secrets, he hints at none of them; while Avonia loves nothing more than to tease at lies and secrets amongst bits of truth until it becomes impossible to tell what is real.

She was the brain to Royce's passion and exuberance, and remains so to this day, though they do not work so closely any longer. ● // Thea and Royce frequently have running bets about various happenings around the Archive. The bets are mostly in good fun, but have been known to get competitive on occasion. Their current longest-running bet is how long it will take Ziro to confess to Efren. Royce thinks five more years; Thea thinks eight.

● // LOG-KEEPER Royce refuses to be called a receptionist, but that is largely what their job consists of. They keep track of the comings and goings to and from the Archive, and they are responsible for keeping messages in order for the Archive's messengers to deliver.

● // RISING SUN CIRCUS Royce was born into the family that ran the Rising Sun Circus, and inherited it from their father when he died. The Circus was known for the particularly impressive shows that they hosted exclusively at dawn. Due to a poor business decision on Royce's part, the Circus has been shut down for years.

Despite Royce being the Archive's receptionist and Patroklos being one of its messengers, Royce has taken it upon himself to give Patroklos what he calls "fatherly advice." (Of course, he would never say as much anywhere near Patroklos's biological father, Xenophon, for fear of angering the Sage.) Royce thinks of himself as Patroklos's uncle. If you were to ask Patroklos how he feels about Royce, however, you might receive quite a different story. ● // ADAIR Royce arguably grew the farthest apart from Adair, of all of the former members of his circus, following their assimilation into the Archive's ranks. While working under them, Adair had served as a sort of mystic, practicing minor magics and working with tarot to wow the circus's audience members. Royce themselves is quite puzzled at Adair's new choice of position. They would've never pegged him as the type to work as a bodyguard. ● // TRITON In stark contrast to Adair, Royce feels as though they knew without a doubt what Triton would become, and how very right they were, and pleased to learn the day that Triton was promoted from member of the Archival Guard to bodyguard to one of the Sages. Royce will take credit for his promotion when they can, but most agree that Triton earned the position himself through his years of hard work and do not take Royce's claims seriously. Triton and Royce don't speak very often, but when they do, it is clear that Triton feels a degree of gratitude towards Royce for setting him up with his first-ever job and, subsequently, bringing him to the Archive, however accidental that may have been.

- was part of a traveling circus as ringmaster and manager alongside avonia, malakhim, caelum, adair, thea and triton - during a stagnant period, he made a bad deal with an investor that saw the circus spinning out of his control - in an attempt to salvage what he could, he ran off with his troupe, hopeful that maybe starting over would bring them better luck - however, pursued by the corrupt investor, they found no peace - royce stumbled upon the archive one night while they were hiding from authorities and ushered his troupe within - they have been there ever since, content to conduct this new business with these new friends they have made - royce now finds great pleasure in keeping track of visitors and trying his best to ""sell"" the archive to newcomers, much to the chagrin of some of the archival secretaries notes: - AH purchase from forever ago - outfit complete - permanently retired from breeding
