Biography

THE PROTECTOR

Dimitri's towering size and dour demeanor give the impression of him being antisocial- and in some ways, that notion is correct. He tends to keep to himself, and doesn't have much in the way of smalltalk or idle chitchat. Despite his resting glower and gruff rumble of a voice, he's actually somewhat amicable. It takes a little bit of time to earn his trust and become someone he allows to get close to him, but when he decides that you're a friend, he'll just about trust you forever.

Most of his avoidant behaviour is for a reason, though-- both of his parents were casualties of an ambush that happened just outside of Wind territory when he was just a hatchling. The experience left him with a terrible sense of survivor's guilt, and every day he wishes he could find some way to avenge them. Dimitri is very convinced that he can convene with the dead, and that they frequently make their opinions and desires clear to him. Whether this is true or not remains to be seen, but most dragons are convinced that he just isn't handling his trauma very well.

Despite his issues and insecurities, he is well loved by a number of dragons-- primarily, the Fraldarius family, who consider him one of their own and spend a lot of their time with them. Dimitri takes great comfort in the parently presence of Rodrigue, and enjoys the rough and tumble demeanor of Glenn and Felix. He and the Fraldarius siblings often bond over a love of weapons and sparring, even if Dimitri has an obvious advantage over them in the latter.

He is also often found accompanied by either Byleth or Claude or both-- the comparatively smaller dragons often hitch a ride on his back, nuzzled up in the warmth of his mane. While Byleth often shares little in the way of conversation, he's glad to provide company otherwise-- especially if Dimitri happens to wander out onto the battlefield, where Byleth is eager to show off his swordsmanship. Claude is always keen on staying up to date with the latest rumours and gossip, which he's happy to share with Dimitri. While Dima cares little about the personal affairs of others, he's glad to share the spiral's company nonetheless.
