Long ago, Banescales were nearly brought to extinction from hubris and greed. However, some eggs survived the war, and laying dormant for many eons. With the collapse of the Blacksand Annex, the seals were broken, and the next of this Ancient generation took flight. The last song of their ancestors rang loud in their memories, in the hope that past mistakes would not be repeated. Any unhatched eggs were given to Galore, which he in turn gifted to worthy dragon Clans wishing to raise and learn about these long-forgotten species.

Cresscali came to Clan Pokéfan's possession as one of these previously buried Banescale eggs. She and Grundmire apparently came from the same Earth clan, or so their instincts tell them. She's the bold one of the pair, both in color and attitude. She is always ready to throw down with anyone that insults her, or for the sake of sparring regardless of the reason. She creates her boney exoskeletal armor from a special concoction of concentrated venom, both for protection and to give her claws and fangs an extra deadly bite.

Gnari the Fenfisher Flattail
Ever the helpful paw, Gnari sadly possesses little business sense. She's a hard worker, but would part too easily with her wares for far too low a low haggle. After many years of scraping by, most of her kin had written her off as kind to a fault, but naïve. One other consensus was her uncanny knack for soothing emotions and negotiating between others.

Cresscali was fascinated by her future mate's companion as a chick, so it seemed inevitable she'd be drawn to Gnari. They're a natural duo; Gnari is able to putter around and converse freely with no stress about affording the roof over her head, and Cresscali has a check against her battle-driven enthusiasm. Indeed, far fewer dragons would be able to tolerate Cresscali without the Flattail by her side.
