Biography
Affiliation: The Outcasts
Description:
A wanderer at heart, Daybreak tirelessly scours the lands of Sornieth- searching for some meaning to give to her life. Being born as a Ancient Breed never came easily to her- as Daybreak struggled to connect with and adapt to the modern world. Her reclusive nature led her to fail to make many friends in her youth- with an exception being Aconite, whom she bonded greatly with during their shared time at WINGS. However, when Aconite came of the age to leave their care, she found herself alone once more.
So, she began to prepare for her own journey. While she was eternally grateful for the teachers and mentors she had in her youth, as soon as she came of age Daybreak left WINGS to search for some greater purpose for her life.

LOG 01:
The first claws of sunlight were creeping over the sky, casting golden rays through the dark twilight. Still and silent, Daybreak watched the slow rise of the morning sun, thinking restlessly. She hasn’t slept that night, and consequently small dark circles had begun to shadow her undereyes. A stillness had begun to form in her neck, and, awaking from her thoughts, Daybreak stretched her stiffened body.
Daybreak was excited, confused, afraid- to put it simply, she didn’t know what to do.
She was an adult now- a fully grown banescale who was ready to enter the lands of Sornieth, who could live on her own. It was exciting, wasn’t it? She finally had the power to forge her own life. She could go anywhere, do anything!
Still- That was her plight.
She had no idea what she wanted to do. No idea what she should do. Or was there a difference between she should and she wanted...?
Her thoughts drifting, a memory of him appeared in her mind.
She was sitting alone, quietly tracing notes in the sand. It was a song, something ancient and dear to her. It had stayed in her heart from the moment of her birth, or perhaps even before that. Though it was before she was born, and she had no evidence of her theory, she felt it was something her mother once sang to her egg. Something warm, comforting, yet almost sorrowful- as if she knew of the awful fate which awaited her. A fate which she prayed her child would not meet.
A light tap on Daybreak’s shoulder jostled her from her thoughts. Turning, she met face to face with another hatchling- a small male banescale whom she recognized but never really spoke to.
“That’s a pretty song.”
His words were innocent, and curious. Though he was young like her, though maybe a little bit older, his voice seemed a bit dry, as if he were unused to speaking. She believed he was brought to the sanctuary later than her, so it was likely that he was only just learning how to speak. Daybreak blinked nervously, unsure of how to respond.
“Uh, yeah... it is...?”
Great. Now it was awkward for both of them.
“So... uh, I’m Aconite. I’ve seen you here before but never really... you know. I was just curious as to what you are always doing over here... do you like writing songs?”
“Yes, I think so? Oh, uh, I’m Daybreak.”
...
“Well, it was nice meeting you. I think I’ll-“
“Wait!”
Her sharpness surprised even herself.
“Do you want me to show you another one, sometime?”
“... Yes, I think I’d like that a lot.”
He had been her best and only friend, probably because he was the only one who had the courage to try and reach out to her. They had been practically inseparable...
Until he left.
She understood that the sanctuary couldn’t hold them forever. But he left without a goodbye, without any indication about where he was going or what he was doing.
Knowing him, he probably didn’t know either. After all they were alike, in that way.
The shadows of night were long behind her now- light had completely blanketed the sky. The light songs of the morning birds floated on the warm breeze, crisp and alive.
Songs... her own song. Her mother’s song. Perhaps that was where she would head to first- the lands where her mother was held in stone. It was through that song that she first found something that gave her purpose, perhaps it would guide her to one once more.
Perhaps, if she were lucky, she could meet him again.
Eyes alight and hopeful- Daybreak lifted herself into the sky, leaving her youth behind her.
