CYPRESS

The Strong, Silent Type

Bio: Cypress is a dragon of few words, rarely speaking in more than single word sentences. When he isn't patrolling or fighting off threats, he visits the harpy stronghold to see his charge, a harpy named Strongbeak (Bea for short). Though Bea used to find him annoying, the way he dogged her steps at every turn and tried to wrap her in eiderdown to keep her safe, she's come to enjoy his visits now that they aren't so frequent. Cypress is very gallant, and a good listener, always willing to sit and lend an ear when someone has a problem, dragon or harpy. Used to life on the road, he never sleeps in a den but prefers to just curl up on the grass outside and sleep under the open air.

Cypress explains this by saying he felt the urge to search young, and his search took a very long time. It might also have something to do with him being a wind dragon. Either way, he can't stand being cooped up. Though he'd never speak up against Olivia, he was one of those initially hesitant about the decision to merge the broken clan into one again. He doesn't entirely trust Sorim, knowing how he so casually played the two sides against each other and used the harpies as well for his own ends, important as they may have been. As a result, he sees the Gaoler as rather unreliable on the whole. Though Cypress understood why Flower left after the whole affair, unable to stand being so near the place where her charge and her daughter had died, it made him very sad when she did, as he'd come to care for her a lot. He's not sure he can ever bear to take another mate.
