bio ❧ The lead director of L&L Laboratories often (but not always) located along the southwestern border of The Wandering Contagion. Labrys is a tirelessly efficient creature with very little room for chatter nor frivolities. Every minute of the day is spent conducting research with the various samples that her mate has procured during his travels. She does not consider herself a "Lesser" by any means of the Crow standard, nor does she feel the need to compete with the Effluvials. No, Labrys has a very different idea of what it means to be "strong." Strength in knowledge, and in the Plague. Her kind has been given a gift to influence what is already there, and even make spur forth greater unknowns. Thus, Labrys believes these to be the modern ideas and abandoned the way of the old by throwing herself into the world of discovery. She opened a small clinic to tempt in even the foulest, most writhing and riddled of pestilent strains her way. It never occurs to her that her work may bring a greater danger to the world, or those around her--not because she is ignorant to the idea, but because it all seems very small to the potential prizes that await on the other side. It is an exchange worth her time, and as many sacrifices as needed. Unintentionally, she manages to raise even more of her own kind during her pursuits, and this spurred on further developmental and cultural changes in the Lesser Crow species. She doesn't entirely mind this unintended side-effect, as it's earned her more in the way of research partners and collaborators the world around. In an act of Chaotic Good(?) Labrys always seems to publish the data that she has gathered. whispers ❧ Hmm? You want to know what the director thinks? Hah, well. I'll tell you what. Bring her one of these samples and maybe you'll get a word or two out of her before she is inevitably consumed by her next project. trivia ❧ As strict and efficient as Labrys may be, she does have an effeminate side about her that shows in both her and her work. She adores plush toys, but she is also very particular about which ones she'll choose to keep, and upon which shelf they are to belong. Adding alongside this, she categorizes her contagion specimens into very "cute" bottles and imbues them with inert dyes to "make matters easier to organize," or so she says... but that doesn't seem to entirely justify the literal rainbow of diseases in her cupboard. Keeping along with her Crow roots. She does like the colors red and gold. It's ingrained into her, but it is a part of her that she openly embraces--in a modern sense with modern attires, of course. None of that old fashioned, coated in seraphs and rubies nonsense. Just one is enough. Like all Deviant Crows, she does have a "mad survivor" switch within her, but no one's managed to draw it out of her yet, thus no one knows what that side of her is like. This knowledge makes her research partners a little bit nervous from time to time when she gets grumpy. Her most prized item is a custom heat-forged scalpel. Medical instrument? Yes. Weapon? Of course. | x |
