"Abigor is a Great Duke, who appeareth in the form of a goodly Knight, carrying a Lance, an Ensign, and a Serpent. He discovereth hidden things, and knoweth things to come; and of Wars, and how the Soldiers will or shall meet. He causeth the Love of Lords and Great Persons."

Abigor is a keen hunter and warrior, though some other dragons find his detached and efficient fighting style to be somewhat frightening and ruthless. He plans all hunting trips and battles and is often the one that answers the call to fight most quickly, and can predict the outcome of a given war easily. Otherwise, Abigor largely keeps to himself if he can help it, although he will sometimes follow a group of coatls if he happens to find any to take advantage of listening to their songs, carefully to avoid being spotted and scaring them off with his frightful appearance. While Abigor initially had no interest in having a bonded mate, he found himself slowly and persistently courted by Caassimolar, even before it knew about Abigor's own feelings regarding death. While Abigor sees himself as living-yet-dead, to him, Caassimolar is a manifestation of violence. Abigor keeps Caassimolar from becoming carried away in its pursuit of violence, and Caassimolar keeps Abigor from slipping too far into his delusion. His time before joining the current lair was one fraught with hardship, having been born into a clan of dragons that was often involved in some dispute. Abigor grew into battle and let it become a part of him to survive, which resulted in his efficient and unaffected attitude towards violence. This was heightened during a particularly difficult fight in which Abigor was wounded nearly fatally and captured, and the pain of his injuries convinced him he had died. Unable to reconcile the shame of his defeat in battle and what he deemed to be a failure of survival (on top of his on-and-off belief that he was dead), Abigor escaped, fled his birth-lair, and sought refuge in the lair he now calls home. Abigor feels no particular allegiance to the Tidelord or any other of the dragon deities except for the Plaguebringer, whose flight he feels he was cheated out of being born into by some cruel twist of fate, but also considers himself unfit to join her due to his defeat and "death". |
