Vatrel

Rhamantus was doing a regular hoard check. He was making sure that everything was sorted correctly. The pearl catcher listed off some things that the clan had more than they could use. He traded some things with a nearby village and while he was sorting the new items, he noticed something. Rhamantus picked up an egg. It had a hard, bony shell. The pearl catcher was shocked. - "There must've been a mistake." - he said to himself, but the egg suddenly started to shake. Panicked, Rhamantus ran to Ramona and Fochune for guidance. Just as the pearl catcher was explaining his situation the egg cracked open and a female banescale slithered out. Red, demon-like eyes gazed at the three adults. She started to hiss and bare her teeth. "Well it's too late to return her now." - Ramona said. - "B-but we can't keep her! We're already running low on lair space. What will the others think? What if the village folk are looking for the lost egg?!" - "Rhamantus, relax. You're hyperventilating." - Fochune said while listening to the pearl catcher's pitiful attempts at remaining consciousness from breathing so fast. - "The villagers won't be looking for her. I mean, her egg wasn't placed in a hatchery or something, it was in their hoard, with a bunch of other useless junk. They might have placed her in the box on purpose. The Dark Forest village takes amazing care of their eggs. Mistakes like this rarely happen. This must've been on purpose. Maybe they just... wanted to get rid of her. "-Ramona explained. Rhamantus looked back at the little banescale. He started to notice that maybe she isn't angry, maybe she's being so aggressive because she's just scared? With a loud sigh, the pearl catcher picked up the hatchling. He was trying his best to avoid being bit, but after a while she started to calm down. Rhamantus showed the banescale to Azura and asked if she could stay. Azura never says no to a new clan member, so they kept her. She was named Vatrel. The banescale was introduced to the other male banescales, but she was eventually separated from the two for constantly trying to kill them. Even now Vatrel is one of the most aggressive dragons in the clan, though she comes around when she needs to. She's bigger than the two males and doesn't really get along with them very well. Vatrel definitely has anger issues, though she won't admit it. She can be a real jerk. The only dragon that the banescale is okay with is Rhamantus. She never raises her voice at him or threatens to hurt him. Guess she's still kind of thankful that the pearl catcher decided to keep her instead of leaving her to die. Vatrel is also an amazing fighter and has earned herself the tittle of a warrior.
