Tanla
Grand Sorceress of Drakengaze

A blessing from Clan Lumisce, the first of the two Banescale eggs that were discovered by the collective scavengers after Gatlefain's birth. Tanla was hatched under the collective magic of the Lightweaver's apostles within Drakengaze and she carries their songs and memories in her sleek fanned body. Ever singing for the Queen, and ever servile for Her lair.

From birth she was incidentally and irrevocably given to Queen Gatlefain, and there has not been a moment in her life that she was not exposed to the deep magic of the Lady. She is always within reach of the Queen of the Lair and always willing to serve her order, need and laughter. Tanla has never known any other life, and behind the strength of her elders and the power of her Lady she will never learn.

This has made her uniquely talented as a messenger and a diplomat, her warbling melody of voice often carrying through the tunnels of the Lair with missives and the pale magic of the Monarch.

Tanla dedicates herself to studying the work of the sorcerers and witches in the clans when she is not dutied. Perhaps in all the Lair she has learned the most of how the spectrum of magic works in Sorneith, from herbs and witch spells she has studied with Skellige to the tomes she has pored over with Talamir and Xanthuros. She has the knowledge and skill to terrify anyone unfamiliar with her strict and studious nature, and her knowledge is easily and often called on by the Queen when there are new discoveries made within the Lair.

Many of the elder dragons have come to accept her as an encyclopedia of magic, a revered and voracious student of all magic and a skilled sorceress in her own right, one they are perhaps lucky relies on the moral compass of a naturally benevolent Lady.
