Laturni

The night sky wraps around you, an endless abyss. You can feel it watching you, and despite its void-like reaches and freezing expanse, you are filled with nothing but warmth in its presence. The mother of the stars looks down on you, twinkling lights like a snowfall of glitter, but paused in time, all around you. It's so hard to believe that the distant dots far far away are stars, impossibly large when close, but now look small enough to hold in your grasp like tiny pearls.

Royal purple and deep blue tones surround you, flecked with lighter bits of heavenly colours, a reverse sunrise is the best way to describe it. It's a different type of ocean, instead of water it's filled with a vacuum. The mother of stars holds you in her loving embrace, reminding you that even in the darkness, there can be safety. Perhaps it is her mourning for her children and you being lost and needing help that compels her to guide you through the constant expansion of space.

Her children? That is a story of its own. Once upon a time, there was another like her, and they were happy together. Two beings unlike anything else around them, who were perfectly in sync. Of course, all things come to an end, and the other soon faded away. However, her and the other had had children, four beautiful younglings in fact, but just as the other had the younglings also faded in an unfortunate twist of fate. Her mourning was great, and her loneliness greater. She was alone, the last one left, isolated in the nothing, an empty isolation.

As time passed, things changed. Life began to grow around her, and her desperation for someone, anyone, grew when they could not notice her. Finally, however, she found you. Or did you find her? In either case, she was not alone anymore, and she was happy. Her guidance led you to unravel the secrets of the things around you, the universe's hidden corners and mysterious niches. Her whispers told you of all she's seen and her stories portray how the galaxies around her have changed.

It's only here, in Eden's Shade, that you can even make contact with her. Somehow, this place is closest to her than any other, and it is only here that you can reach her, and she can reach you. She doesn't speak in words afterall, and the best way to even begin to explain it is vague thoughts, ideas, raw emotions attempted to be portrayed by something that is not able to properly feel them like you might. Find her in the corners where the shadows glitter with thoughts that only she can think.
