A clan elder and part of a council of flight matriarchs.
Along with the other elder matriarchs, she oversees the clan ceremonies and traditions.
The council also maintains inter-flight politics and social conventions and dynamics. They work to reduce conflict between differing flight members or values and attempt come to compromises while maintaining the integrity of flight alliances. They try to determine how each flight can maintain its values and identity while being integrated into the overall culture of the clan while also avoiding clashing with or overriding others.

Even though she is the clan's Light Elder, not all Light related responsibilities are hers. If there is a task or event that needs to be handled that does not involve her duties as a flight Elder, Altaica handles them, since Altaica is officially the clan's Light acolyte.

Individually, the clan elders (with the exception of Aldith regarding Imperial matters) do not outrank Averinne, but together as a council their decisions almost always carry more weight than hers, and she allows it to be so.
