His Braids contain a strange green goop that he can squeeze out when he wants and shape like plastic. It's a strange substance, which had no outlet in his born form. He hadn't realized how uncomfortable that was making him, a pressure both physical and mental, until he couldn't stand it another minute! He didn't know what the problem was, and was hardly in any shape to think, as he lumbered into the sky for the last time and headed south. Perhaps he would have drowned himself, never having been a strong flier, but he did have the strength to take himself as far as the Southern Icefields before he gave up. He folded his wings, closed his eyes and let himself fall. He didn't feel anything more as the cold enveloped him. But it did not quench his fire entirely. He awoke, weeks later, feeling, well, alive, for one, but also ... alive! Once he recovered from his shock as finding himself in the form of an ancient enemy, he sought out others of this kind, stumbling at first on his new legs, and he found them, welcoming him without question. He put himself to work, using his new Braids judiciously, and soon earned enough treasure to book passage back to WindSky Weyr.
