Lore was written in large part on my phone, I have yet to go and correct odd format and grammar errors.

Also gonna have to rewrite the bit at the beginning with the new lore, but I am too lazy too right now
Meeting Artifact

In the forgotten nursery of the banescales when the ice seals began to crack and an egg was knocked loose and washed away into the tunnels, without coming in contact with the elemental lava that birthed the first of the new banescales. Washed through the tunnels by the melted ice the egg eventually made its way to sea.

A harpy traveled along the coast of the blacksand annex. She had been sent by her clan in dragonhome to negotiate alliances with the beastclans of the ashfall waste. As she traveled along the coast she spat and cursed to herself
"Nobody gives our clan any respect. We may not be the biggest or most fearsome, but we still are worth something"
She kicked a stone into the ocean as she watched it arc and crash into the tide something large I a tide pool caught her eye. A large sphere getting tossed about in the gentle current of the pool. She got closer to examine it and gasped
"A Dragon egg"
She looked around in panic, the parents would be close by. Although she could not see a single wyrm along the beach. She paused perplexed, who would leave an egg unguarded? Then a vile grin spread across her face and she whispered
"Well if we can't get any resources by making allies, we could hold the poor baby Dragon ransom, Dragon clans pay handsomely for their own young"
The harpy pulled a large piece of cloth from her travel bags and wrapped the egg in it. Not keen on staying, for if the parents did return she didn't want to be caught kidnapping their unborn child, she quickly fled back onto a route which led to Dragon home

Uzume strolled leisurely along the western Dragon home shore looking off the small cliff towards the beach for signs of ruins exposed by the low tide. She had walked this trail before, but only the eleven knew what the tide would offer up each day. She came upon an old Cliffside lair that she often used as a land mark, the lair had been abandoned as long as she or any other snapper heard could remember and it was starting to give way to the wear and weather of the world. She and many other archeologists had studied it and there wasn't much left to study, but uzume enjoyed their familiarity along her beachside route. Suddenly she heard a scrambling sound from inside the ruins. She haulted was this some stray animal in the ruins? Then she heard a clunking sound and some cursing, definitely not an animal, it didn't sound like a dragon either. Uzume quietly peered into the ruins and saw a harpy stuffing loose bits of tile into her bags.
"HEY!"
uzume shouted. She was not going to let some harpy treasure hunter deface the ruins she was so fond of. The harpy started and let out a shrill panicked screech before scrambling and taking flight out if the ruins. Uzume shook her head and walked to where the harpy had been taking the tiles, she had left in such a hurry she had dropped some of her belongings. Uzume looked over them to see if there were any artifacts she had stolen that uzume would need to return. Uzume paused at a perplexing trinket wrapped in cloth. An odd spiraling oval covered in plating like scales, she had never seen an artifact like this one before. Excitement pulsed through uzume's veins. Where did this thing come from? What was it used for? Is it Dragon or beastclan? Where did the harpy get it from? Uzume gingerly reached for the object and no sooner had her claw touched it that it started to grow pebbles along the plates. Uzume flinched away in shock. uzume ducked and shielded her head as the artifact burst open scattering plating and pebbles all along the cliffside. After the burst there was silence and then came a noise, an odd sound between a cry and a song. Uzume uncurled from her defensive stance to peek at the source of the noise. Amidst the shrapnel of the artifact lay a creature, a trembling pile of membrane and scale.
Uzume gasped
"An egg?!"
Uzume stepped towards this unknown creature. As she approached the hatchling rolled over to look her straight in the eye and make a squeak. Uzume flinched, her skills with hatchlings had never been very sensational.
"Now aren't you a strange one my little artifact… you're not like any drake I have ever seen…"
The hatchlings rolled onto it's belly and tried to right itself, it seemed to struggle with it's balance.
Uzume examined the hatchling
"Now little one, that is going to be hard considering you don't seem to have your front claws…"
She gathered the cloth she had found the egg in and scooped the hatchlings up, fashioning herself a sling to carry it in. She thought herself unfit to raise this hatchling, so she would find a snapper herd and ask them to take it in. As she walked it search or a herd the hatchling occasionally squirmed cooed in the sachel and Uzume awkwardly tried to soothe it be singing stiffly. the hatchling would stop when she did this although Uzume was not sure whether or not this was out of comfort or confusion.

After a long trek across Dragonhome Uzume spotted a herd in the distance. She called out to them and bounded towards them. As she got closer she could tell they were not only snappers, there were a few gaolers and a guardian in their midst. As Uzume caught up to them the patriarch of the heard, a large goldenrod and raspberry snapper, and greeted her.
“Hail traveler, what do you seek of us?”
Uzume replied while pulling the little wyrm out of her makeshift sling “Well, it may be a bit presumptuous to ask, but I was wondering if you had room in your midst for a hatchling I found amongst the cliffside ruins.”
The snappers of the group approached and looked over the hatchling, murmuring amongst themselves.
“Where are its arms?”
“It’s like no breed I have seen”
“That’s what dragons said about the gaoler”
“Let’s ask Snowdrop, she knows all about this kind of stuff”
The herd motioned for one of their gaolers to come forward. A Blackberry and white female gaoler came forward to look over the hatchling, her own hatchlings tumbling around and getting tangled in her feet. When she approached it she gasped, shuffling her hatchlings under her stomach.
“This… my ancestors in the Southern Icefield told tales of these creatures… The Wyverns of the Wastes… They… killed many gaoler and it took the lives of some of our great ancestors to drive them off… even now after many ages have passed since their downfall, gaoler hatchlings still shiver at the mention of them. I-I thought that they were extinct…”
Uzume stared in wonder at the bumbling hatchling who could barley keep its balance, it certainly didn’t look the part of an ancient fiery terror.
The gaoler continued
“ you must take great care traveling snapper, I do not know if this hatchling will be as brutal as his ancestors were.”
There was a chorus of murmuring from the herd and finally the patriarch spoke to uzume.
“I’m afraid we cannot take your hatchling… We are sorry but we value the safety of out herd and Snowdrop seems rather spooked by all of this… we are deeply sorry…”
Uzume gathered up the hatchling, her heart sinking a little although she wasn’t sure if it was for the fact that she would have to keep the hatchling for now or whether it was in sadness that this hatchling seemed to face such hostility at such a young age. “No no, I understand, family first right?”
The herd said goodbye and continued on its way, a few of the gaoler hatchlings looked back and tried to get a peek at the hatchling before they departed.
Uzume looked down at the hatchling as it let out a small cry
“Well I guess I’m stuck with you for a bit longer little one… Lucky for me, you are still an ancient artifact of a sorts huh?”
The hatchling tilted it’s head at her and made a concerned coo
“Oh don’t give me that face my little artifact, I’m not that bad.”

Songs on the Shore

Uzume strolled leisurely along the cliffside looking for what the tide had brought in, Artifact hopped along behind her gleefully, singing some earthen festival song he had picked up while they were in a town. With each beat he hopped onto one leg and then the other. Uzume would have found this endearing if he had not been singing the song for half an hour. She had grown fond of Artifact over the several months she had been raising him, but she had yet to become fond of his tendencies to sing whatever song popped into his brain for obscene amounts of time. Artifact sang the last verse of his song and then paused, Uzume thanked the Earthshaker for this small reprieve, however after only moments Artifact started the song from the beginning. Uzume cringed and turned to Artifact
”Artifact my dear, could we perhaps sing a new song now?”
Artifact stopped in his tracks and gave her a puzzled look
“Oh? What song would you want me to sing Uzume? I’m quite fond of this one, it’s very happy”
“Oh I know dear, I’m aware of how much you love that song, but you have other happy songs you know right?”
The pair continued along the cliffside as Artifact mused aloud.
“I know that song about pebbles that that snapper herd taught me… or I could sing that song about fish that the ridgeback we met in town taught me, or how about the song about the fae who likes to bake cake!? Should I sing the cake song Uzume!?”
Uzume reflected on when Artifact had first learned “the cake song” He did not cease singing it for several hours on end and had even occasionally hummed it in his sleep.
“Oh let’s not sing the cake song love”
“Well what do you want me to sing Uzume, what song do you like?”
“Well… I like the very first song you sang to me, when you were just a hatchie. The song about your ancestors”
Artifact stopped trotting behind Uzume and frowned.
“That’s not a very happy song Uzume”
“Oh I know dear, but I do enjoy it and you did ask”
“Well, I guess I’ll sing it for you Uzume”
