Biography

Bolt-Strike Banescale

When the cavern housing the Banescale eggs was uncovered and clans were tasked with raising the near-extinct species, the Zenith Clan was among the first accept the responsibility. Raijin is one of the two Banescale to hatch from the eggs given to the clan. Of course, while the clan had experience with ancient dragons prior to accepting this task, bringing up both of these newly uncovered ancients proved to be... slightly more complicated than raising and forging relations with Gaolers. Any culture or customs the species had appeared to be lost, leaving no instructions for how to bring up the two Banescale. And the reason the species was near-extinction was residing within the new Shade holding lair the clan had developed.

Nevertheless, the clan tried to give the dragons the same flexible upbringing available to other hatchlings. What worked in their favor was that Banescale were coming to adapt themselves to other clans, allowing them truly carve their own path. They were allowed to choose their own path and given the necessary training to help them with what they wished, the truth of their origins being told when they were adults. It isn't easy to bring up that they're among the last of their kind, or that Banescale were at one point gone from the Sornieth....

Though still young and inexperienced, Raijin is the more serious of the pair. He looks to Ysolmir, the other Banescale, as a brother, given that they were hatched at the same time though their elements differ. And though his status isn't lost on him, this being one of the few occasions the clan actively worked towards finding a mate for its members with fair reason, he's quite combative. Blessed with the Stormcatcher's lightning, he's quite insistent on helping out in what ways he can, be it by helping to generate power for the clan or going out on patrols. Of course, this is after he met the aerial standards some of the clan's skydancer's and spirals, able fliers who seemed best suited to instructing the Banescale inn the ways of flight. So far, Rauken has even shown interest in the young dragon, finding him to have the power and potential to be an effective Shadehunter. However, the decision would still be left to him, once he becomes old enough. Even still, interactions between him and other Gaolers have been kept minimal.

In general, Raijin has earned an a spot among the clan's warriors and hunters, though he hasn't really come to enjoy the clan's propensity of gluttony. While he can convert stored fat into deadly electric attacks, it isn't something he relies on too heavily, preferring a leaner built for maximum aerodynamics. And he does look out for Ysolmir still, keeping the species overall survival in mind.
