LENA
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
|
One of the first Banescale to arrive at Home after the revival of the ancient species, Lena's egg hatched after it was carried to the Tangled Wood by traders hoping to fetch a good price. After making her way to Home, Lena's glad to be among dragons with a similar story but still struggles with being one of the first Banescale re-introduced to Sornieth. Being one of the first to reach adulthood in non-Fire Clans, Lena is among those Banescale who grew up with no knowledge of their history and culture. She often feels somewhat lonely and even jealous of the dragons at Home who know traditional songs and stories, and even gets frustrated with Home's other Banescale for not concerning themselves as much with such things as she does. Somewhat mercurial and snappish, Lena is quickly emerging as an extremely gifted magician. She has a few qualms with being a Shadow dragon (it stings a bit, to be one of the first Banescale revived and not be Fire), but that won't keep her from honing her magical ability. Much to her disdain, Lena is somewhat the stereotypical Shadow dragon, and can often come across as aloof, self-important, and capricious. Although she was offered a spot in Jǫtunheimr Hall, Home's most coveted Hall, Lena declined in order to focus on her true passion - art. She feels she doesn't fit in well with Home's other magicians, preferring to spend her time discussing colour theory and linework with the dragons in Álfheimr Hall, the Hall for artists and artisans. She particularly loves combining her skill with both magic and art, imbuing her paintings with shadow for a truly unique effect. Though she has a tendency to get stuck in her own head and sometimes take her frustrations out on others, Lena has difficulty being mean or even slightly unkind, and always apologizes for her mistakes. She has a surprisingly wide protective streak, and frequently watches over Home's hatchlings when out on errands. Lena often proves herself to be a rather brave and selfless dragon despite her best efforts.
