When Selden was just a young hatchling, she lived in a clan in the Ashfall Waste. She was one of the only ice dragons in her clan, and her mother died soon after bringing her there, so the others would always judge her unfairly. Selden also had a cold, snowy aura around her, making the fire dragons uncomfortable. Growing up, she had no friends, and no parent figure, resulting in her angry-seeming personality. Selden often spent her time attacking monsters and training dummies alone. On the afternoon of her birthday that made her an adult, decided to silently flee the clan to join a new one. When she was fleeing, however, she overheard the clan leader talking about how they didn't need her in the clan and were planning to exile her. The audacity to even think of that on her birthday! In a fit of rage, Selden leapt onto the leader without thinking. Her skills actually surpassed his, and she shredded him to death. Realizing what she had done, Selden ran as far as she could and stowed away on ship to the land of ice. Despite her natural icy aura, she found herself unable to handle the cold, and after living in an abandoned camp and surviving only on frozen vegetables, an imperial named Pearl found her, and they quickly became friends. Pearl was a nurse in the Amethyst Clan, and offered to invite Selden, who quickly agreed. After traveling the extremely harsh, long, distance to the clan, a few sparring matching with the leader determined that Selden was worthy of being a representative. To this day, she has many friends, including SapphireSnow and Shadowmist, and nobody really cares about her cold aura and fiery personality. |
