Mau joined us as an orphan. He alongside Crimsey was raised by Remula.

Growing up watching Remula he became obsessed with her role as our Spymaster. All while he was growing he tried to master her tricks of the trade. Attempting to be silent when he moved, going unnoticed by those around him. By the time he hit adulthood... Well... He still hasn't mastered any of it, really. Being silent and going unnoticed typically requires good coordination. Which he does not possess. The other reason he can't seem to go unnoticed is that Mau is rather goodlooking. Which he doesn't seem to realize. But whenever he's around the eligible females all want to talk to him or give him trinkets.

Most of the time he is being followed around by Crimsey. Which causes even more of a ruckus for him. Because she's already loud on her own, but then when the females flock to him she gets worse. She tries to chase them all away. He sees this as her keeping him on track with training. I'm pretty sure she just wants to be his first mate though. He's pretty oblivious.
