Venatrix

Venatrix was brought into the Clan when she was found by Savage and Bowthorpe, lying horribly injured in the Starwood Strand. She had been part of a wild Mirror pack, and when she had been attacked and mangled to the point where she couldn’t even move, the pack decided to leave her for dead.

Though she protested, she was brought back to our Lair for treatment. Aside from a few scars, she made almost a complete recovery, the only major issue being a partial loss of sight in her left eyes.

Oddly, she loathes the Clan for taking her in. She thinks that, had she been left behind, she would have recovered perfectly fine by herself. In her mind, all the Clan has done is prevent her from catching up with her old pack. Being a wild dragon with no prior experience of civilized Clans, she sees ours as little more than a disorganized, multi-breed pack, and her instincts tell her to rule it.

Unfortunately, this leads her to constantly clash with Clan ruler, King Savage. As an ex-wild Mirror himself, he was already nervous that someone wanted to overthrow him before she came along, and even the slightest complaint against his authority would set him off. However, as he is not generally a violent dragon, he does his best to be understanding of Venatrix’s instinctive need to rule, and as such has not thrown her out for her behaviour.

Naturally, she does not appreciate this. She also doesn’t appreciate the stern talking-to she gets from Savage’s mate, Queen Bowthorpe, each time she attempts to fight him. Being lectured by a higher-ranking pack member is bad enough, but it’s just plain embarrassing when they’re almost a year younger than you.

She can often be found lurking in the Starwood Strand, training herself, and watching for any sign of her old pack. She hopes that, someday, they will return, and that when they do. she will be strong enough to be allowed to join them once more.
