Rav doesn't remember the day he left his hometown to wander the world, but he isn't sure he wants to.

Living with a shade affliction isn't easy for any dragon—though some who face it might disagree. As for Rav, he chooses to ignore it. A terrible idea, perhaps, but he'd never been known in any stage of his life for his good decision making. A life of trying to escape the inevitable inevitably led to world travel—an idea Rav had always had a distaste for, but thought it might do well to take his mind off of the things he was failing to properly ignore.

Traveling Sornieth as a lone wolf, however, proved to be impossible in the end.

He'd once thought of himself as a smart guy, and he was right! He knew what plants in the wilderness were safe to eat and what wildlife to avoid, yet it took some lost child to alert him that he was about to ingest a few bees with his chosen meal—not that it had really been his choice of food in the first place. It was terrible to know just how humorous she found the situation, and even worse to know she planned on sticking with him. "To keep the bees away," she'd said.

It's absolutely horrible—so he says—how fond he's grown of being called "dad."
