They woke up on day in the same plane as the gods. Dawntrailer used to be mortal, it was said, gently, as they stirred. They died an unfortunately ordinary death in the Wilds, but... their body is... not at rest. Reanimated. To some degree. And while it remains with its own consciousness, Dawntrailer cannot be granted the typical mortal rest. The gods don't say much more than that. Ysolde took great pity on them, because what happened to their body is too evil, too unfair. Dawntrailer was made a humble deity so that their soul could at least have comfort while it is between states.
Their job is a simple one-- to guard the heavens for the brief transition as Night leaves for rest and Ysolde takes their seat. Sometimes they wish they had more time to find their body, see what it's up to... there's some sort of anguishing pull in the direction of the Wilds down below.
