Glimmer has a secret. Well, it's not really a secret anymore, but once it was.

She was deathly afraid of the dark when she was a hatchling. It terrified her! She didn't have glowing runes in her hide like her Papa did, and she didn't have glowing fireflies to light her way through the dark like her Mama did. Her Mama told her that if she was strong, and believed with all her might, that the fireflies would come. And so she held on, and persevered... and one day, just as her Mama had promised, the fireflies came. They made a home between the scales of Glimmer's hide and have been with her ever since.

But Glimmer still remembers those early days, when she was afraid all of the time and jumped at her own shadow. So she's dedicated her life to helping other dragons confront their fears and adapt themselves to better thrive in their environment, rather than fear it.
