Boze ; mimic
Travelers be warned, these are not dragons! While their mannerisms and appearance match that of a dragon, they have added features (horns) and when taking a closer look, a wispy appearance. They may offer power or wealth in trade for a "simple favour." DO NOT MAKE A DEAL WITH THESE CREATURES!

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Location: It is unclear how these creatures came to be. These so-called "Dragon Mimics" are an anomaly only encountered by the most isolated and weary of desert travelers. Only encountered at night, though there is talk of them being spotted alone during the day, they are only encountered in the deserts of the Shifting Expanse and not the deserts of Dragonhome, though the reason is currently unknown. Current theories suggest that it may have to do with the greater population in the Shifting Expanse.

Effects: As previously mentioned, when encountered these mimics will try and convince their victim that they should make a deal with them, in exchange for a simple favor. Offers have ranged from as small as a basket of food to as large as gene scrolls and vast sums of treasure. Some offers have also been reported as knowledge or most notably, a right of kingship to certain lands. Whatever the offer, the mimics ask for the same favor, to be given something of great value to the victim. They ask for no specifics but seem to know if the object they have been given is of appropriate value to the victim. If given an appropriate item, the mimics will walk away fading into the desert night. If given an item not of an appropriate value to the victim, the mimics will carry the victim away into the desert, never to be seen again.

Folklore and theories: Some dragons say that these mimics were once alive and real dragons, a pair of them. It is said that this pair went into the deserts of the shifting expanse to make a new home for them and their eggs, but something went terribly wrong. This is where the story varies regionally, some say they were struck by lightning and became what they are today, some say that they were cursed by the stormcatcher himself for quitting work to build their home, and more still say that they died in the desert and that the mimics are the deserts way of warding off unprepared travelers. But the clan closest to where the mimics are spotted most frequently say that the pair built their home, but built it inside of ancient ruins, and then the mimics we see today are possessed by the spirits of that tomb and are constantly amassing wealth and items of spiritual value to grow the power of those spirits. They leave offerings to the spirits for good luck, and hope that when their power is full that they will be spared from their wrath.
