As a hatchling and adolescent, Violet was coddled incessantly by her mother, Venus, a bit of a delusional imperial dragon that was chasing a prophecy told by a fortune teller in her home flight. Her mother believed that producing offspring in the Viridian Labyrinth would heed an extremely magically inclined child, one capable of using their innate healing magic abilities to restore her mutilated face to its former glory. Violet was Venus' first daughter, and her mother, seeing herself in the hatchling, knew with utmost certainty that she was the daughter she was promised by the fortune teller's prophecy.

She was hardly allowed to form relationships with her siblings in her adolescence, but in stubborn defiance to her mother, does her best to stay in contact with her sister, Mercury, who moved on from their home clan.

Violet's only friend growing up was Oasis-- who she was allowed to visit with due to Venus being good friends with Oasis' mother, Tempest. Violet has harbored romantic feelings towards the skydancer for a long time but has never had the confidence or courage to express them.

As Violet grew up, she became increasingly depressed due to being controlled fully by her mother and pressured into her magical studies, taught by the impatient and unkind clan healer, Eve. While Eve is an extremely skilled healer and mage, she isn't a very good teacher, and Violet assumes that she was somehow bribed by her mother to agree to mentor her.

The first few years of her early adulthood were extremely lonely, almost all of her time dedicated to studying healing while she was constantly being criticized and belittled by her mentor, along with her mother being emotionally abusive. Even in her free time, she was rarely ever able to see her only friend, Oasis, due to conflicting schedules, and that Oasis had taken up the extremely time-consuming duty of hatchling caretaker for the clan. In the brief moments where Oasis had more free time to spend with Violet, the spiral dragon had to learn to suppress her jealousy over the fact that Oasis also had other friends she wanted to spend time with instead of just hanging out with her.

While Violet pursued her forced career, her mother continued copulating with her father, producing more younger siblings that Violet would never be able to even meet or be able to bond with until the fateful day that what would be her parent's final nest together finally hatched. An absolutely perfect hatchling was born, blessed by the Gladekeeper with primal eyes that had never been witnessed in the clan before- only heard of from legend.

It was then Venus realized she was wrong about Violet, and cast her aside completely, almost cutting her off entirely from her life.

Ostracized by the mother whose praise she had been dependent on since her earliest memories, Violet finally broke, unable to hold back her misery any longer, self-inflicting herself with wounds she hoped would result in her death. To her dismay, she was revived by her mentor who only degraded her further, and put on suicide watch by the clan's leaders. Oasis had another dragon take a part-time job at watching over the clan's hatchlings so that Violet could move into her lair so that she could be watched over and taken care of as she tried to recover from her abrupt crash to rock bottom.

In an attempt to quell her overwhelming feelings of worthlessness, Violet used her learned magical abilities to begin growing her own garden, which ultimately became her one healthy coping mechanism. She started growing plants with psychoactive effects that she would consume in order to cope with her incessant suffering caused mostly by being surrounded by constant "triggers" or reminders that she had been replaced by her mother with a more special hatchling.

Eventually, Oasis expressed the need to return to her occupation full time, and Violet moved her belongings into her very own lair for the first time. She struggles to maintain her independence and as a result, her lair is quite messy and disorganized, and she doesn't allow visitors very often. Violet presently struggles with maintaining her emotional highs and lows, often hiding in her lair for days at a time before coming back out to harvest more "goodies" from her garden to "cope" with. She visits with the clan counselor, Silverfish, on a semi-regular basis, although she's not sure if the therapy is helping very much. However, she is beginning to make more friends in the clan due to her newfound independence (and also partly due to her garden of psychoactives and psychedelics).

Violet is basically taking life one day at a time at this point. She hopes to replenish some of the respect that was lost for her after her suicide attempt but unfortunately most of the clan's "dignified" residents have come to view her as pathetic because of her frequent emotional outbursts and antisocial personality.

She, unfortunately, has developed a habit of self-harming and tends to her own wounds with the medical skills she learned from Eve. She has the occasional suicidal urge but her fear of receiving further criticism or judgment from her past mentor usually deters her from giving herself any fatal injuries that could result in her being revived from another attempt on her life.
