Ostraka is not a hatchling-friendly location. It is crowded with criminals of all stripes, not to mention the supernatural dangers around the outpost that might seep in. In spite of everything, romance does occasionally happen either in or out of town, and residents may find themselve nesting.

Responsible parents arrange for their hatchlings to be raised elsewhere, and those with no wish of parenthood may send away their eggs to Moshkaran's Orphan Asylum, Riftmaw's Orphanage, or other destinations along the clan's trade routes. Any urchin found in the streets of Ostraka would be taken to another location before they get snatched by evil creatures and outsiders.
