Peokeos currently serves as Captain Prax's strategist and conflict negotiator by working closely with Tession and Vesper. It's well known that the latter (true to his shady birth clan) deals in secrets, but the former is - contrary to popular belief - far more capable than she seems. With the two spies feeding them information, Peo is well-armed to forge a path to the other side of whatever sticky situation the clan's sketchy nature has landed them in this time - be it captured crew members, their next big heist, or even the old boss’ labor enforcers hot on their heels. In a clan where little is certain and none is free, Praxton is more than grateful for the skydancer’s assistance in padding their metaphorical crash landings.

Others are not so fond of Peokeos’ ways, however. Many are resentful towards them, and some have even complained to the Captain about their apparent ‘slacking off’. Most of the crew can’t seem to wrap their heads around the concept of nonphysical labor, if that’s any indication of the life they’ve lived. Additionally, many are hesitant to strike up conversation with the feathered silvertongue, as they’ve all heard about what exactly brought them aboard. Vesper - Peo’s closest friend – is always quick to jump to their defense when the others grow discontent, often citing several of the clan’s most recent exploits that certainly would’ve ended less fortunately if not for their dear strategist’s forethought and skilled improvision.

Ironically, when Peo joined the clan, Vesper couldn’t stand their presence. They were originally brought aboard as a prisoner of sorts; the imperial had been trying to swindle some half-drunk bottom-feeders out of a decent pile of treasure playing poker in a local crummy pub. Peo also happened to be playing, though, and to Vesper’s surprise, frustration, and begrudging awe, they managed to cheat him out of everything he was “risking.” In other words, Peokeos played the player – and when it’s Vesper, that’s a feat. The crew dragged them aboard, and when they were asked to explain themself to Captain Prax, they managed to smooth talk their way out of custody altogether, allowing them to make a break for the sky, where they could hide in the cloud cover.

Unluckily for Peokeos, the clan has an absolutely feral huntress by the name of Inara who sensed that the Captain’s ‘prey’ was escaping, and bolted after them. She wrangled them into a headlock and roughly down onto the deck, to everyone’s bewilderment. Further shocking the clan, Praxton immediately offered Peo a job – he didn’t like being cheated any more than the next pirate, but he knew a potential asset when he saw one. The skydancer saw no reason not to stay, as they were between clans and rather worse-for-wear without actual employment. Joining a crew of miscreants, felons, rabble-rousers, and pirates wasn’t the best decision, but it certainly wouldn’t be the worst position they’d ever been in. Peo almost backed out when they learned they’d be working with Vesper (who protested twice as emphatically) but something told them to stay. They still aren’t sure exactly why (but they figure the mob of criminals surrounding them from all sides might’ve had something to do with it), though they hope that by staying aboard for a few more adventures, they just might find out.
