Biography
Lothric used to be a travelling entertainer, part of a duo alongside his brother, Lorian. He was a shapeshifter and his brother could make such fantastic illusions from mist and water vapor. Together, they had a performance that was a true spectacle for the eyes.
However, the brothers found themselves tired of being travelling performers and could not agree on a place to settle. So, they parted. Lorian went to a village in Light called Madore, and Lothric found his way to the Shallowlight Region.
When the Shallowlight City fell, he found refuge in the Underground of Hollowwell. Like many others, he did not see Godsen for the saint he claimed he was. He stayed with the others like him, now called the Witherborough Underground and works as an effective spy and infiltrator thanks to his shapeshifting abilities. While performance isn't his passion anymore, it's still a hobby he likes to indulge in and, when he's not too busy, still puts on performances for the Underground, partnering up with Kulshan to do them.
---
Lothric was not born was his shapeshifting abilities, nor was Lorian born with his illusion magic. While the shapeshifting is now tied to his signature spell, "Now You See Me, Now You Don't", his signature spell did not always do what it does now. Signature spells rarely change and always do so with outside interference. Lothric's outside interference came from a chance encounter with a strange, black and red Tundra.
The brothers had been down on their luck, wandering aimlessly with no real skills to attempt to hone. They'd long decided that they'd want to bring smiles and intrigue to dragons around them but had no methods to do so. Both were creative storytellers but they had nothing to spice up their stories and often the audiences they drew got bored before the climax and either stopped paying attention or left. So, the pair had just been wandering ever since, hoping for something to either inspire them or to grant them a miracle.
Their miracle came in the form of a Tundra they encountered at a tavern while they were unloading their sorrows over a drink. The Tundra overheard and beckoned them to speak somewhere else more private. Their hesitancy was taken over by their desperation as the Tundra promised a solution to their problem. They followed the Tundra to his room and he revealed himself to someone that grants desires and he would be more than happy to grant their's. For a price, of course.
The brothers asked what they price was and were confused by the Tundra's answer. First he pointed to Lothric and said, "Your sadness." before pointing to Lorian and said, "Your anger." Lorian agreed quickly but Lothric was more hesitant, worried that the prices were some sort of metaphor, but Lorian quickly pressured him into agreeing. The Tundra shook their hands and left a mark in each of their palms in a shape that was similar to a sun.
(I gotta be honest, Lothric and Lorian have nothing to do with the boss from Dark Souls other than I liked the names.)
