It was supposed to go something like this: Zira would take in his eldest son, thus relieving his guilt at having done, well, nothing about his kids who were wandering around being slightly taught by Navarro of all people. This might also get his dad a tiny bit off his back, and thus a young Cae might have had the best shot of any of his siblings. How it actually ended up anyone could have guessed- Zira basically allowed a feral cat into his tightly controlled home, and with each misstep Zira’s father would side-eye him until finally Cae was shoved off to the guard trainer where hopefully he could ‘blow off some steam’ and just maybe learn something. Instead Cae disappeared into the night and Noa was sent after him in the barest of efforts. While wandering by himself (and some tiny part of him did hope to find at least one of his siblings, but probably not. They all tended to scatter and move like he did) he found out he could do at least one thing: whenever he killed an enemy, he could take and manipulate a portion of its abilities. Now this could have made him become a problem in the world, but his nature never allowed him to think on it. Instead he wandered from place to place, hearing tales of beasts and demons no one else would get near. Each one he downed added to his own arsenal and at each one he wondered which would be his last. This ended fairly promptly after Noa finally caught up to him. He couldn’t just keep fighting things and let this poor kid be lost in the world by herself. There was also a slight...issue. One of the stronger beasts was attempting to get its vengeance after death and seemed to be very slowly killing him. At least that’s the way it felt- some days he couldn’t feel a lung, or his chest, or a leg. Some days black would roll over his face like ink across water. He took to wearing a mask just so people wouldn’t get the wrong idea, and so it wouldn’t upset Noa. This along with his constant exposure to said creatures/staring into the abyss has left him a bit, well, Cae. He’ll say things that have no bearing on the situation at hand, or he'll sing lyrics to songs no one has ever heard, like for a second his brain has tuned into something else. It has, but he doesn't say anything. He doesn't talk much about it really, and that combined with his natural congeniality has caused more than a few to dismiss him, which Cae doesn't usually have a problem with. ▬▬ ADDITIONAL ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

-Can summon creatures to help him in a fight, the most common of which are black dogs that look like a bad child's drawing. They still got teeth, tho. The Spikes are probably more deadly but he finds them creepy. -Tends to avoid responsibility until there's no other option (morally or otherwise) -You gotta forgive him for not really paying attention. He gives off major doof energy. -On the plus side he can't get double possessed so suck it other demons -Wears a mask around strangers and on bad days so people don't get worried or think he's Shade possessed. Man wouldn't that be embarrassing.
