Spice, the Trophy Child

A lone Arcane egg found haphazardly left to the wilds was picked up by a small entourage of dragons scavenging for materials in their home domain, deciding to bring it home with them perhaps out of pity; this would've been the case had the value of such an egg was not a tempting offer to the clan. It was kept in timebound storage for it to await its fate, with the clan discussing what should be done with the egg. Of course, according to Sampson, the most logical thing to do was to sell it. Such a rarity would bring wealth to the clan as they had done with eggs found before, but there was hesitation amidst the group. When was the last time they had found an egg belonging to their own Flight? An Ice or Water egg was one thing, someone else could do well to take care of it themselves; even if they found lone Arcane eggs before something about this one was perhaps... different.


It was decided that the egg would be allowed to hatch, and as soon as the light touched his form the clan grew enamored. What unusual allure the hatchling had, drawing the adoration of nearly everyone despite the confusion and befuddlement that the young dragon was left in. From that moment he saw only lavish luxury, being gifted some of the highest honor not seen by anyone else since Shellina's return and the later hatchings of Foresight and Hindsight.

He had no idea what it all meant, why everyone was obsessed with him. Perhaps he simply wanted to live as a normal dragon, yearning for adventure as others had seen but simply left to tend to matters at home. It wasn't until Sampson had approached him one day, having caught the prized dragon alone for a moment of discussion that Spice finally learned why he was held on such a pedestal. He was a testament to what the clan could achieve on their own, a culmination of hard work and love that they believed had manifested as Spice. From his breed to his colors, genes, attire, and even his own space in the lair, he was the pinnacle of the clan's progress from fledgling to what they have become. His value was deemed astronomical, and thus, he was treasured and beloved.

Even still... he couldn't help but feel unfulfilled, having never seen the achievements himself before his hatching. To this day, he still yearns to live up to the worth placed on him by others, to truly feel like he had earned his place in the clan.
