Chiana

In darkness, Chiana was a deep red shadow and an icy stare. She hid her bloody claws and fangs in the shelter of the night, where the only other creatures were just as dangerous, just as detached from the rest of the world. Life was solitary in the dark, filled only with the hunt and the meal, and rest.
Out of loneliness, Chiana once allowed other dragons into her hidden spaces. The love they showed her was a surprise- new but so warm and safe. Ever so slowly, the fear that held her back melted away and was replaced by passion, though not without a healthy level of caution. Chiana took these new dragons as family quickly, and just as quickly developed a strong protective instinct over them.
These days, she spends her time accompanying her family on evening outings, fluttering in the shadows of her larger dragon companions until the sun sets, and fiercely protecting them from the dangers of the night.

The dark hides creatures, terrible creatures that watch with piercing eyes and stalk there prey waiting for the perfect moment to pounce onto them with such speed they didn't expect anything until the last moment, where they felt the sharp claws of the creatures dig deep into there own very flesh before the world went black. Chiana, was one of the creatures hidden in thoses shadows. Chiana was one swift hunter, he killed him prey silently and quickly, he was talented in his ways of hunting. His dark, blood, red color blended in perfectly with the darkness surrounding the area that he was hunting in. Sadly for the prey, the last thing they would see before teeth tore through there very pelt were the blue, icey blue eyes that pierced into you like a arrow and struck fear into the hearts of many that catches the sigh of Chiana's cold eyes. Chiana favorite were the duskrats, they were hard to catch as they were small, blacker than the night itself and the only way to see them were with there own bright blue glowing eyes. He always caught them and saved them. Chiana was a creature of the night, never hunted during the day, only when the sun was down and the moon was up.

When the summer rolled over, that's when most duskrats came out, and especially more prey. Chiana hunted alot during that season, as he stocks them in a small area hidden inside his personal little den. He kept all the fresh kill there ready for the winter. So, it was the perfect time for Chiana to hunt as more prey more food! And that's what he did, every night, he hunted and stocked up. But sadly, this year, the summer didn't hold as much prey as the last couple of years so his stock wasn't full. He tried but it was hard, the bigger creatures than himself were doing the same thing and getting food. Autumn rolled over, and more prey starting disappearing meaning less food for the dragons. The prey would scour and hide in there dens until the spring came over, hibernating thought the harsh winter that was to come. Chiana still tried his best to find food, and he did.

Soon, Winter came. It was a harsh, cold, snowy winter, the wind belated the trees and the ground slowly turned white. Chiana stock got smaller and smaller everytime and, he ended up with no more food mid winter. Knowing this, he would go out at night and try to find prey but it was so difficult to see and work trough the snow that fell from the clouds. He found prey time to time but it was truly hard work and he felt his stomach rumble. Sadly, it wasn't only him in this, many other dragons also are hunting for food. So the day he saw a large deer, shaking in the snow slowly dying he thought this was his chance. He crawled up, getting ready to pounce, and then the moment his feet left the floor and he felt a thumb and he slammed into the body of the deer. Three bigger dragons than himself surrounded the deer and him. Chiana let out a menacing growl warning them to back off and that the food was his, but to his susprise, instead of growling back one of the three let out a noises indicating they weren't not here to fight. Chiana has never worked with anyone, he's always been a loner. For a moment, he looked at them all, and for once in his life, he'll do something he'd never done before and bring the deer and them to his place, as he saw, they were in the same position as him, struggling, starving and seeking warmth. So chiana let out a coo telling them to follow him, and he started walking off with the deer being drag in his jaw to his house. At first they were hesitate, then started following him.

Chiana led them to his den, a small hole layed at the entrance and he slipped through it with ease. He bellowed with his head as a gesture to get the others to come down, and thry did but with a much more difficulties. They chuckled about it and chiana thought that was odd. He led them to a bigger room, lit up by a fire that crackled in the middle of the room. Chiana drop the deer and looked at them all. One of the dragons, an imperial, dragged the deer and cut it up into four pieces with his sharp claws and gave them each a piece. The trio that Chiana started chatting and chuckling and having conversations together, and then they started talking to Chiana. He thought all if this was odd, he's never gotten this kind of attention. Then, they all started a chatting all together and Chiana felt a happiness in his chest, one that he's never felt before, and another feeling, that he cannot describe, but it felt good. For once in his life he felt happy, they made him feel safe, loved and happy. The three dragons were actually interested in him and they all had a good time chatting.

Slowly they all started opening up and they all carefully grew a bond. The trio talked about how they meet and became a "pack" together, and each of them talked where they came from and why they were there. Chiana decided to tell them about his backstory.

Chiana ran away from his clan because, his colors were dark as blood. He scared the younger dragons that were in his clan. He always looked so evil, so rumors starting on him, even his own parents felt a little fearful about his deceiving look. The whole clan always whispered, stared and judge him and one day he snapped and had enough and ran away, leading him to where he is now. He also told then how he learnt to hunt because, the only dragon that wasn't scared of him and didn't say anything was his grandfather. Chiana's grandfather taught him how to hunt and fish and just live, a sadness over came him when he told them that he passed away of old age. He missed him. Since that day he became a loner and quiet.

The trio saw the look of sadness on him and hugged him. A new sensation overcame Chiana and he felt, loved. He felt happy knowing they cared about him and like... Family. He hugged them all back as happiness overcame him again and one of them finally asked the question, does he wanna stay with them? Chiana thought about it, then agreed, with genuine excitement.

And since that day, he's been learning what it's like to be loved and have family agai. He was finally happy. He protected them and they protect him, they protect each other and work together. Everyday they're bond grew stronger and do did they're clan.

They were family, and Chiana now finally had a clan, but especially, a family.
