As desperately as the clan physicians tried to revive the hatchling she was too far gone. “Why do you weep?” said a voice in the frozen wind. “If they had revived her she would have suffered damage to her brain from being without air for so long”. “You don’t know that!” The mother snapped “Even so at least she would be alive!”. The voice replied “I know many things, if that kind of a sacrifice means that much to you I can return her life at that cost” The mother blinked looking around though there was no one there just the disembodied voice on the wind “Wait what sacrifice, and you can let her live again? Please if you can bring her back I would give anything”. There was a long pause then the voice replied “She will live again however; she will have no memory of anyone or of herself. Her memories will be as newly fallen snow. This is the price you must pay for her to live again. She will be alive but to you she is stranger. You are not to interfere with her new life or she will die permanently.

As promised the next morning a frozen corpse rose up from the snowy grave, The frozen frame was covered in a thick layer of ice and snow. The reborn child was no longer a Skydancer, she was in the form of a winged unicorn covered in frost . As forewarned she had no memory at all of her former family or her hatchling friends of of what her name had been. Now she was Eria and as far as she knew that had always been her name. The missing memories of where she had come from troubled her at times, maybe one day she would learn the truth
