Biography
Crystalline Gala 2020 Lore Dragon
Witness 1: Ehr
Ehr hatched from a fading ray of sunshine outside the Fortress of Ends on a frigid autumn day, the season when the Fortress grows colder and darker and the Shade gets steadily more active. He was raised and trained by the gaolers in the Fortress--an austere, utilitarian childhood--and he always knew that his purpose in life was service to the Icewarden to protect Sornieth from the horrors held within the gaol. There was never any other option.
He reached his nameday on the solstice, the day the Shade was most powerful, and he chose his name as Ehr, a runic name from a language long-forgotten, rumored to mean "watcher." From then on, he swore to dedicate himself, in life and death, to the Overseer order, to give up his personal freedom for the greater good.
He guarded the Horrorbeasts imprisoned in the Fortress faithfully, resigned to a life of duty with no respite. And, occasionally, he guarded other things--a cat that had just given birth and needed protection from the creatures lurking in the shadows, a very fine clawring that had been lost by its owner some moons ago, and an oddly silent, glowing animal that began to follow him around. And, apparently, a set of crowns, which then went missing.
This is a very worrying thing for Ehr, because if it is decided that he failed at his task of overseeing the protection of the crowns, then he could be in serious trouble and perhaps even be expelled from the Order and exiled from the Fortress.
He can only hope that's not the case...
