As someone who tends to and takes care of fish and related creatures, its not a surprise that Yashui would take a companion related to one. The calico-patterned protobeast, named Oro, is typically seen by the skydancer's side when he does his daily observations of the water sources in the territory. Monitoring the quality of the water is much more efficient when you have a creature that can breathe it. Despite being a creature from a time long-forgotten, brought back with the power of an alchemist's cauldron, Oro firmly believes that a protobeast companion should be critical to the tool and skillset of those who monitor the resource of water. Sometimes though, Oro deems the day too hot or windy and decides to not accompany Yashui to the waters. Understanding that this is likely a behavior from a time long ago, Yashui leaves his familiar be. But perhaps Oro doesn't want to follow along because she feels lazy that day. No shame, none whatsoever. |

Occupation A member of the Council of Falling Water, one of its four leaders, Yashui has power. Not as much as a king, but he doesn't mind that. As 'He who tends to the sea', he is the lead director of making sure the fish are not overhunted, and that the life of the streams around the cliffs are thriving. If either were concerning in any way, he had the authority to do what he deemed best to try and stop the damage from continuing. Usually he has no problem, especially if the concern stems from the activities of a clan member or two. He only has issue with those who pollute in their own territories, and when that toxic flow enters his land. Day in and day out, he works tirelessly to devise strategies to preserve the beauty and health of his ponds and streams. One might even say, he enjoys it. |
