You’re running out of breath, but you need to keep up your sprint. You spot him between two trees, unmoving but somehow beside you, and you jerk to the left, resuming your sprint in a different direction. How did he catch up to you? Every time you see him he’s unmoving, just staring and radiating that dread.

The skeleton appears in front of you and you wheel back, wasting your breath on a short scream of terror and frustration. There’s nothing to do but run the other way now. You’ve been hopelessly lost since you first met the skeleton, but you keep running, despite your muscles begging you to stop.

The Pearlcatcher appears in front of you again, closer this time, and you wheel back again, tripping over your tail. On the ground, you curl into a ball, sobbing. I give up.

The Pearlcatcher pounces on you.
