When the Mutating Ice Clan chose to produce Tawksyk and Mercury, their future wasn't promised. Neither had a stable foothold in the world but they were sold off regardless of that and promptly separated before the pair could make any memories of each other. Tawksyk was sold into a peculiar clan who took an interest in a number of things namely his weakness. From the moment he was purchased everything he did was recorded on paper. He was allowed to freely move about the Nature clan even where other hatchlings were not. This caused him to be bullied but Tawksyk had little interest in fighting back. He'd rather slide out of a scuffle and carry on as if nothing happened even when he occasionally suffered wounds.
Eventually, his health started to decline. Verbal communication was rapidly diminishing and he slept for longer periods of time each day until the clan's scientists decided to step in. Suddenly his freedom was taken away and Tawksyk was a project. He suffered many injuries all for the "sake of his health". From injections into his bloodstream to samples removed from his body, the wildclaw looked as well as he felt but his looks were permanent.
Despite all this, the dragon's health continued to decline until he was no longer able to move farther than ten feet from his den without becoming heavily taxed. Sometime during all of the work done on him, the dragon fell asleep and when he woke up he was alone in the middle of the Viridian Labyrinth. That was a small discovery in comparison to the number of other things Tawksyk discovered including that he felt well enough to move. Despite not being of pure Plague descent he discovered (by accident initially) that he could withstand a number of toxins from a variety of things including fauna and flora. Not only that but if he ingested any specific toxin it coated his teeth for an unidentified period of time which made him deadly prey or an even worse predator.
Despite his discovery Tawksyk made a point to explore how far he could take his immunities and made a point to purposefully ingest anything remotely toxic to dragons to see if it affected him.
Being alive and having unique defenses wasn't enough for the dragon though. Whether it was an internal drive or one created by the scientists Tawksyk had a habit of pushing himself to any and every physical limit he could think of from running until he collapsed to eating as much as his body could possibly withstand. He hated the habit to its very core but that never was enough for him to refrain from doing whatever he could.
These unique traits coupled with his history with clans and his scarred appearance led Tawksyk to a very lonely lifestyle that suited him perfectly well until it didn't. When he'd journeyed across Sornieth twice over without any assistance but with nothing to show for it the wildclaw decided, on a whim, to join the crew of the Crowned Thresher. It promised him new ways to push his limits and he even found a bit of camaraderie he wouldn't have found within clans.
