Sometimes you're building an automata and you adjust, and modify, and you tinker and you just can't get it to work. Elektra would tell you to take it back to blueprint, start again from scratch, chalk it up to a learning experience. And sure, you could give up, try again. Or you could take it to Iolanthe.
She says it's not wind magic, the way she breathes life into things. She says her ball is a very clever invention that looks like it defies physics and all natural laws, but that it's really a very simple mechanism, easily replicated. But does anybody really believe any of that? She also says that hat is just to keep the sun out of her eyes.
The point is, don't tell Elektra. Your invention works now. It works! But if you want to make another, maybe you do need to start again from first principles. Iolanthe won't do the same enchantment twice.
