Xerceas originated from the Aviastra Clan in the Starwood Strand. From a young age, he showed a love for magic. His curious mind and affinity for solving problems made him naturally attuned to the ways of spellwork and enchanting. Xerceas loved to study and use magic, and this led to him dreaming of becoming a mage. He lived in his home clan for many years, learning from others and reading every scroll and book he could get his claws on. He quickly became adept with casting and creating spells, and spent much of his time experimenting on and analyzing magical items to understand how they work.
But he felt that he wasn't good enough. Sure, he was okay with spells and messing with the odd runestone, but he wanted to become a mage, and he knew he would need to keep learning; unfortunately, there was only so much he could learn in one place. He'd studied for years, growing and adapting and creating, but he felt like he'd hit a wall. So he considered traveling Sornieth; he was sure he would absorb so much knowledge just by seeing how other dragons perform and use magic. But that would mean leaving, and Xerceas loved his home. It was a hard decision, but with the support of his clan, he set out on a journey to seek out the knowledge he needed to achieve his dream of becoming a mage.
