Biography
The embers crackled and glowed along the bottom of the hearth, radiating a warmth into the small room. Ustrina sat in front of the coals and pulled out a book. Today was a perfect day to just relax by the fire and read a book. It was cold and windy and the clouds threatened to bring in snow for the first time this season. She was looking forward to finishing the novel that Darknova lended her.
Suddenly, there was a rapping on her chamber door bringing her out of the adventure that she was immersed in. With a sigh, she slowly made her way to the door, hoping it wasn’t an urgent matter. She opened the door to discover one of the younger dragons holding a note. Raising one eyebrow, she asked, “And who might that be from?” The young dragon shuffled his feet, handed over the note and responded, “It’s from Morgathol, he says that there may be a new vintner joining the tavern.” With that, he left Ustrina standing in the doorway holding the scroll.
She unrolled the scroll and it read,
Ustrina, I would really appreciate some help with bringing the new vintner up to speed with the type of wine that we make here and just showing them around the grounds. I know you mostly do the beer brewing but I figured you were the best one for the job. Let’s make our newcomer feel welcomed to the clan. ~Morgathol
Closing the door behind her, Ustrina made her way back to the sofa in front of the fireplace and sat down. Laughing to herself, “I wonder why Morgathol thinks I know anything about making wine. That dragon he hired will know more than I ever will. The only thing it has in common with brewing beer is they both ferment.” Smiling, she picked up her book and continued reading.
