The Protector

Phaedra is rightfully one of the oldest dragons in the land, and in thus one of the strongest as well. His experience is almost unmatched when it comes to battle due to the sheer number of how many he's been apart of. With age he's started to slow, however rarely acknowledges this. Even the most simple dragon isn't foolish enough to point this out to the elder.
While he has every right to claim this lair as his own, ruling is not something that he's interested in. He'd rather stand by the side of a leader than to take the position himself. He serves only four things.
The Plaguemother, his clan, himself, and his beloved mate.

The past year has been challenging for Phaedra. His life's mate has stopped visiting him, and he has been unable to locate her clan. The knowledge that she is just as strong as he keeps him from panicking, but he still worries for his beloved's health. Phaedra knows that when the time is right, she will return for him. Until then, he waits.

Another half year has passed since last word from his mate. Setting out to find her did no good, as even the clan's best tracker was unable to find a trail as to where her clan went. Her seemingly permanent absence has left a rather large hole in his heart. Absolem has encouraged him to give up on her and move on; something that many would see as cruel but Phaedra knows that his friend only wishes for the best for him. Vertigo encourages him to still have hope, for even if she had moved on and left him behind, she could still be happy somewhere out there.

Whether she lives or not, Phaedra doesn't talk much about it anymore. He shows no interest in finding someone to replace her in his heart.
