Background
Enigma is a Homunculi made by a Plague doctor, one who specialized in body enhancement, cloning, and similar such practices. He was the product of one the doctor's practice runs for a soldier Homunculi he was commissioned for. Of course being a) a small Skydancer and b) less capable at containing magick stores than desired, Enigma couldn't be used to fill any commissions so he was put up for sale to the general public with all the doctor's other undesirables. Their Maker didn't have time to waste selling cast-offs so the shop and its merchandise were placed under the watch and care of Navara, one of the doc's personal Homunculi and the only Natural he'd ever kept. Dressed up in his little bow, Enigma didn't understand for a long time why Navara sometimes looked so sad when one of the others was sold. It would take time, Navara's heavy influence, and the attentions of a young fellow Homunculi before Engima would begin to realize that perhaps sitting pretty and letting others prod and barter over you, like their Creator wanted, wasn't all he was made to do.
