Alright here's the brainstorm:
- Halzaak has a badly injured/scarred tail that never quite heals, keeps festering. Drinks potions from serthis potion masters to keep it from spreading. Got it during a huge clan war between his clan and the Skolvedons - the Exalted Plague magic makes it so the wound never heals and only continues to rot and grow if not carefully managed.
- Vaalza's mother was killed during a skirmish when the Skolvedons were still forcefully trying to impose some semblance of peace and order among the clans in order to unit them under the Skolvedon banner. Vaalza's mother vehemently disapproved what the Skolvedons were trying to do, Halzaak was indifferent. Until she was killed.
- Began a blood feud between the two clans. Though Halzaak's clan lacked Exalted power, they were allies with the largest alliance of serthis within Plague. Launched an attack on the Skolvedons' capital, killing the youngest son of the pack leaders (or so they thought at the time). That was their flaw - the ensuing fury drove Halzaak's clan far from their territory, all the way to the edge of Plague (near Fire?)
- Once Halzaak realizes that Ansgar is a Skolvedon, the one they thought they'd killed, he begins hunting him mercilessly. But, tensions are starting to fray alliances, and the serthis are slowly beginning to not want to work with him anymore...one in particular.

Plague exalted bloodline: Skolvedons
Dump about Skolvedons:
- Run the largest trading hub in the Wastes. Business and trades go by without much fighting, as the heads of the Skols know that in order for economy to move, there must be a way for dragons to purchase and trade without risking their eyes being clawed out. The 'no fighting' rule is unspoken and quietly enforced, with 'peace keepers' employed by the Skols patrolling the streets and covertly whisking away any dragons who cause a rukus.
- Main head of the Skols is a female Mirror who is a terrifying balance of brute force and cunning wit. She's also an incredible diplomat, which is how she brought the other biggest clans together in a treaty, setting up the Boneyard trading hub. She's rarely seen nowadays, after what was believed to be an attempted takeover of the Boneyard lost her two of her siblings.
- The attempted takeover was carried out by Halzaak and his mate's clan, as they were very opposed to the so-called 'Wastes Alliance', believing it would make the clans of Plague weaker and too reliant on one another.
