Birth

Divarica and her siblings were born during a silent, windless night to a clan in the Scarred Wasteland. During the moments which the four drew their first breaths, it was as if all the creatures across the whole of the clan's territory were forced to hold theirs. A tense stirring settled over the dragons and beasts, and a sensation of something frightful and unknown.

One of the hatchlings was quickly separated from the rest, spirited away and forgotten, leaving the remaining three to live, perhaps, as normal.

Few truly knew or suspected the nest of Golden Gaolers had been at the heart of those few moments of creeping terror, most thought it was a phenomenon which has stuck only them as individuals, and few conferred with each other about it. A chill in the dead of night was not something children of the Plaguebringer thought to remark upon.

Of course, most of the dragons in that region had other reasons to be suspicious of the Golden Gaolers. Divarica's parents are bound and devoted to guarding a shade fragment known as the Eyebite. Though the trio grew up with the other children of the clan, playing, learning, and fighting, they were often regarded with some level of distrust by many of the older dragons.

It is unknown if she had been affected by the shade's dark influence or not. Perhaps it does not matter, for Divarica will surely forge their own path regardless. For better or worse, the young plague gaoler will always survive, for that is what a dragon of plague does.
