After having just spoken to the dryad named Barrow, you find yourself in a clearing with a hill, and a wooden door built right into the front of it. Out of curiosity, you knock to see if anyone's home. A pair of bright orange eyes appear in the window of the door. "Are you the traveller everyone's talking about?" asks a soft, raspy voice. You nod. "Oh." it answers, before the door swings open. "Well, hello. My name is Cookie." greets a little brown wildclaw, his body adorned with gold chains and jewelry, flowers and stars. "I'm a baker." he adds as you sniff the air, smelling delicous pastries. "If you'd like to try some, you may!" he tells you, leading you inside.
Early Life
Cookie hatched in a warm fire lair, with a twin brother, unto his parents Pecan and Pie. They were a breeding pair, whom only had children to be sold to other kingdoms for money. He and his brother weren't even given named before they were sent to market. The two of them spent their time playing word games, waiting for someone to take them home. Lots of dragons passed through, but none seemed interested in the two chocolate boys. Eventually, Cookie got sick of waiting and ran away. On his way out of the market, Cookie ran into a big red gaoler, who told him her name was Ruby. She asked him where his parents were, and he told her. She decided to take him home with her, to a mystical kingdom called Crystalrune. Cookie was in shock most of the walk there, as he'd been told that Crystalrune was a myth. Surely it had to be real if this gaoler was from there, right?
Living In Crystalrune
Once he and Ruby arrived, he was introduced to the king and queen as an orphan from the land of flames. The queen, Firefly, examined him, amazed by his handsome colours and bright orange eyes. She said that it shouldn't be Ruby who'd raise him, as would typically be the case, but Barrow the dryad instead. So, Ruby took Cookie to meet the magical tree dragon.
Barrow was an ancient dryad, who lived deep in the eternal summer's forest in the southernmost reaches of Crystalrune. When Ruby told her that she'd been chosen to raise the sweet orphan, she did a backflip out of excitement. She told Cookie that she only had one other child, whose name was Vega. Cookie was told he'd meet her later on, but that since her, Barrow hadn't really been able to have any children. Her mate had been exalted to serve the Icewarden.
Barrow taught Cookie how to hunt, gather, fly, and climb trees. He later developed his baking skills himself, and opened up a bakery. Now, his sweets are reknowned all across Sornieth, and dragons from every flight visit the kingdom just to buy some of his treats!
